Hoofcare in the Heat

Things just seem more difficult in the scorching heat of summer. Horses are hot, we are hot, no one wants to be out in the sun. But more than just personal preference, being out in the heat – especially when doing a physical job – can be dangerous. There are risks of serious things like heat exhaustion and heat stroke, for example.

I chatted with two hoofcare providers on opposite coasts who deal with different versions of heat, Cristina Winemiller in AZ and Beth Lynn Lewis in NH, about how they deal with hoofcare in the summer.

The entire conversation can be heard on any podcast app under “The Humble Hoof,” or directly at this link
