I’ll admit, as a hoofcare professional, I’ve only trimmed pigs twice. And technically, it was the same pig twice. I realized pretty quickly I didn’t enjoy it the way I was trying to do it, and haven’t touch a pig hoof since.
But then I saw Adventures with Emily the Trimmer doing really awesome things with pig hoof rehab, and training others with her “Mohr Method,” and I wanted to learn more about the similarities between horse hooves and pig hooves! I chatted with Emily about everything from how she got into trimming, to pig hoof anatomy, cycle length, and how diet, movement, environment, and other factors affect their feet.
