Staying Safe: Preventing Injury in the Horse World

As a hoofcare professional, our job is inherently dangerous – even when the horse is well behaved, we can have repetitive strain injuries that force us to stop working. That can be a scary thought, especially because most of us got into this line of work because we love it and want to continue rehabbing hooves and working with horses as long as we can!

When I originally chatted with Alexa Linton, an equine and human osteopathic practitioner, I was thinking that we would talk about alternative therapies for rehabbing horses. I soon realized that “horse people” (not just hoofcare pros!) could all benefit from a chat about how to keep our bodies healthy when working with horses. Alexa talks about ways we can prevent injury, rehab issues, and more.

This episode isn’t just for hoofcare providers, but anyone in any walk of life – how can we make sure our bodies keep going for the long haul? You can hear the entire conversation on any podcast app under “The Humble Hoof,” or directly at this link.
