Life After Laminitis

This time of year can be nerve-wracking for both owners of metabolic horses and their hoofcare providers. The season changes, temperature swings, and fluctuating sugars in the spring grass can lead to uncomfortable hooves.

In an effort to help encourage owners and give advice and tips on preventing and rehabbing laminitis, we have been chatting with owners and hoofcare providers about successful laminitic rehab cases. This week, we talked with Maggie Lambert of Diamondback Farrier Services, about her own horse Cedar, a Rocky Mountain Horse she acquired due to laminitic issues. Cedar is now sound, back in full work, and an integral member of Maggie’s personal herd.
